I painted a lily with its stems and leaves, just as I normally would paint a flower. When I showed it to a mentor, he said, "Look closer". So I took a section of the lily painting and painted closer. All kinds of things overlapping and intertwining started to emerge going in and out, up and down. I realized that this is a lot like life. When we look at our lives from a distance we may not see anything remarkable. But when we stop to look closer we discover a whole new world full of all kinds of challenges, adventures and beauty.
